Fusion 360 Next Update is Planned for Monday April 3, 2023

To help everyone plan, I wanted you to know that the next update for Fusion 360 is scheduled for Monday April 3, 2023 ~6:30pm Pacific time. This update is required for your students to maintain file compatibility.

If you or a colleague would like to receive this information in an email, click here to sign up to receive emails about Fusion 360’s updates.

Starting with Fusion 360's April 3, 2023 update, when signing into Fusion 360, you will be taken to a separate web browser to continue the log-in process. With this change, please ensure that the URLs documented in the Ports and Domains article are added to your school's list of allowed URLs.

Important:  Fusion 360 has upgraded services for better scalability and performance. These changes will require lab computers to be updated to this latest release available on April 3, 2023. We strongly recommend that all lab computers install this update.

Windows users:
NEW: Auto-Download for Windows users only – a time-saving process for updating Fusion Lab Installations.

To ensure your lab version is consistent with the latest version available on students’ personal devices you now have the option to set up Auto-Downloads. Auto-Downloads for Fusion 360 automate the recurring ~8 weeks update process. Learn more about the benefits of Auto-Downloads for Windows users and the set-up instructions here - see section 6 (page 14).

Alternatively, you can manually update Fusion 360 in your computer lab(s). You can prepare ahead of the release date. Open the text file and copy the text in the file and save with the name “FusionLabInstall.bat" into the same folder/directory as your Fusion Lab Install File. When the update becomes available, you will download a new Fusion Lab Install File into the same directory, and install it by executing the .bat file.

I'll post a new message when the update is available.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Dan,

Will this update add file compatibility with SLDPRT/SLDASM files from version 2023? This has been causing me some headaches lately, and I'm not sure where to look for when this will be added.

Warm regards!

Hi @jordan_crt

Great question. We are expecting tonight's update to support SolidWorks 2023 files?

Thanks,

-Dan

Hi Dan,

To double check, can I get a punctuation check on this? Haha.

Thanks much.

Is that meant to be phrased as a question? Or are you saying you are expecting it?

Thanks!

Hi @jordan_crt

Sorry, I missed that I typed in a ?. It should be a period. Tonight's update should support SolidWorks 2023 files.
