When uploading csv file, some users get added incorrectly, with Fist Name and Last Name as part of their Email

When uploading csv file, some users get added with their user name as their email or even email split into first name last name.  Is there a way to edit users data?  I can't see any difference between their data and users who got loaded correctly

Hi @STEAMClown

Are you trying to assign your students licenses or add members to your Folder-Level Project?

I'm not aware of a way to edit this data. I'd suggest trying to readd the students.

Can you Private Message me the CSV file to test?

Thanks,

-Dan

I have just had this issue as well. Some students were added incorrectly. The CSV file was correct. Deleting and re-adding the students did not work. Is there a way to edit the first and last name of the user. The email for the student is correct, and for me it would be an easy fix - I just couldn't quickly discover a way to make the change.

@STEAMClown @ben.berkmortel Would you be able to get us a copy of your CSV so it can be looked at internally? Please send the file in a private message when you send it to me.

Thanks,

Kevin

@STEAMClown @ben.berkmortel When you private message the file, can you please change the extension to .txt please?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi @STEAMClown and @ben.berkmortel

I received the CSV file from Ben and I was able to reproduce the issue. I sent this to the engineering team.

After assigning your students' a license of Fusion, they can change their Autodesk Account name by going to https://profile.autodesk.com/personalinfo.

Thanks,

-Dan

Hi @STEAMClown and @ben.berkmortel

Update on the CSV issues that you reported. Here is what I learned.

The educator is importing a list of students via CSV with first name, last name and email.

If no account exists, a "provisioned" account is created for that email with that first and last name. An invite is sent to that email letting them know they've been invited.

If the invitee already has an Autodesk Account associated with that email, we don't overwrite the name associated, we just pull in the information from our database.

Ex: acorish had their account created back in March 2023 with the same first name and last name. When his educator imports that account into their user management, the names they provided were overwritten with the names that are listed on the account.

If the educator wants the names to be the student's actual name, the student will need to update it themselves via this page.

Hope this helps clarify why the names are changing from your CSV file.

Thanks,

-Dan
