Hi @thedoncutta can you provide the file you are trying to use here? You can right click the file in the Fusion data panel and choose share link. You can then paste that link here and I'll take a look. Can you also tell me what tool or tools you want to use to do this?

Thanks,

Kevin

That would be great. A link to your file would be helpful. Also, let me know what tools you want to use like flat end mill, bull nose, ball nose etc. and the diameters as well as the stock size you want to start with.

I am a Snare drummer from drum and bugle corps - Boston Crusaders.  Thats my drum stick I just took a pic of on my teacher desk.

Drumstick with 4th axis. I would use rotary tool path.  - maybe use 3d adaptive from A zero and A 180. for roughing.
Workholding - the problem is the same as cutting wooden balsa CO2 dragsters - Fusion Academy used to have a course on it. I saved it.   The problem is holding it.   I would mount on end with a 5c collet or lathe chuck and o support with a tailstock.  machine everywhere except the ends you hold it by.  - hand sand ends

Hi @thedoncutta Here is first example of this. Have a look and see if I'm doing what you were hoping for. I implemented @SuncoastTechnicalCollege's suggestion and rouged the stock from A0 and then from A180. I applied two rotary toolpaths. One using the spiral option, and one using the linear option. Have a look at the file and let me know what changes you would like and I'll get it dialed in and see if I can make you a start to finish video showing the process.

@thedoncutta I should also note that you will have to enable the manufacture extension to edit the rotary toolpath. If you need any help with that, please let me know.

@thedoncutta If you click on setup1 then on the actions panel you can click the Simulate with Machine icon.

Then when in the simulation, press the play button at the bottom of the screen
