Text disappearing below 10mm

Hi.

I've recently switched to a mac with an M2 processor. I still have an intel Mac and the issue I have is not present. When adding text to a sketch if I select anything below 10mm (some fonts will go to 8, but the majority won't) the text disappears completely and there is no way of getting it back. Importing older models with text get messed up too if I try to edit them.

I've reinstalled Fusion twice as the education and the hobbyist versions and the problem is the same.

Is this a known bug in the new universal binary, or am I missing a setting somewhere?

Hi @CullenrVDZDT

Thanks for the log files. I sent them onto the engineering team.

This is a very strange issue. Let's see if the log files give us a clue.

I'll keep you posted.

@CullenrVDZDT, Thanks for more attemps and sharing the logs!

It's a little hard to figure out where the problem is right now.
This does not appear to be a graphics card/driver issue, but more of a system-level configuration affecting the Fusion's text display. Have you modified anything in the OS setup process, such as Language & Region and system case-sensitive? Any more changes to your system that you've already made?

Thank you for your help in diagnosing this problem!

Thanks,

-Lisa

Hi

I haven't changed anything to my knowledge. It's pretty much a virgin install.

I'll try a complete wipe and reinstall, but it won't be until the weekend. I'll just install the OS, then Fusion and see what happens. If it's still corrupted I'l take logs and pass them on.

Hi Dan

Sorry for the delay, but life as usual gets in the way!

I may be getting somewhere in narrowing down the issue.

I use a 65” TV as my main monitor and that was fine being fed from an intel 27” iMac.

Trying several different scenarios it seems that the TV is the issue probably related to graphics drivers.

1. Just TV  - no text below 8mm.

2. Just 1080P 24” monitor - text available at all sizes.

3.   Monitor only connected - text fine. Then plug TV in and text visible on either screen if I move the Fusion window from one to another.

4.   Disconnect monitor and text still visible and adjustable on TV.

5.   Restart Fusion with either scenario 3 or 4 and text disappears below 8mm again.

6.   Disconnect TV and do not restart Fusion, text is not visible below 8mm on the monitor until a Fusion restart, then it’s fine again.

I have tried multiple HDMI cables and swapped USB-C with HDMI on the Mac and this makes no difference the results are exactly the same.

Hoping it may help I’ve included logs where only the TV or monitor are plugged in.

Fusion is the only program I’m having issues with and was present in Ventura and on Sonoma which I’ve now done a clean install of with Fusion being the only program installed!

Thanks for update and sharing the more details, @CullenrVDZDT !

I tried to connect a larger TV monitor in our office (should be higher than 65"), the problem is still not reproducible by following your steps.

Thanks,

-Lisa

Cheers.

I also have a 55" and will try that when I can. I wonder if it's a Samsung thing?
