It's that time of year again

Hello everyone! The time is here to undergo the annual process of renewing my education access and soon I'll be signing up my students. Somehow this never goes smoothly for me and this year is no different. I have spent hours yesterday and today trying to figure out some things with my account. I decided to attach a screen recording to show you what I am experiencing. If anyone has suggestions, please send them my way. Thank you!

Hi @pdelosa Did you have a chance to review this guide? Sorry, I'm not in a place where I can review the video you attached right now. The guide shows methods for assigning multiple students.

Thanks,

Hi @pdelosa

Thanks for posting the video. This could be a browser cache issue. Can you please try to renew your eligibility in a new Private Private window?  Please try the following.

  1. With Safari open on your Mac, select File from the top menu bar, and then choose New Private Window. You can also input the keyboard shortcut Shift + Command + N.
  2. Safari will open a new Private Browsing window.
Note: You could also start an Incognito Window in Chrome.
  3. Log into the Autodesk Education site and see if you can renew your eligibility.
After renewing your eligibility, you'll need to renew your Fusion 360 license.

  4. On the Fusion 360 product card click "Get product".
  5. danbanach_3-1690583696882.pngdanbanach_3-1690583696882.png

    Click on "ACCESS"

    danbanach_4-1690583696882.pngdanbanach_4-1690583696882.png

  6. Launch Fusion 360 (you can cancel the install).
  7. If the Education license does not appear on the top of the screen as shown in the following image, sign out and back into Fusion 360.

I'm pretty familiar with the student process. Right now the problem I'm having is I can't renew my own access.

So I was now able to update my school, but I am still not able to renew my access. When I log in on my home computer I see that my subscription is expired and I am in read only mode. However, when I log in on my work computer things seem to work normally as far as my subscription goes.

I have attached another screen recording.

Thanks everyone for weighing in and helping me sort this out.

Hi Pete,

Thanks for the update and the new video. I'll ask our support team to look into why Confirm doesn't do anything.

After renewing your eligibility, you'll also need to renew your Fusion 360 Education license. Please try to do the following.

  1. Log into the Autodesk Education site.
  2. On the Individual tab, on the Fusion 360 product card click "Get product".

  1. Then click "ACCESS".

  1. Launch Fusion 360 (if you're running Fusion from a browser, you can cancel the install).
  2. If the Education license does not appear on the top of the screen as shown in the following image, sign out and back into Fusion 360.

I'll let you know what I learn.

Thanks,

Hi @pdelosa

Our support asked if you could please try to confirm your eligibility in a private browser window, and to click in and out of each of the completed fields before clicking confirm?

Thanks,

-Dan

I had tried an incognito window before, but not since the latest updates. I'm at work now and incognito seems to be disabled so I'll have to try this evening when I get home.

Okay, I have updated my computer and my Fusion360. All of that is working. My subscription is still expired. I made it one step farther today and was able to upload my documents showing that I work for a school. Now I seem to be stuck in a new loop. See video for details.

Hi @pdelosa

Our support team made a change to your account. Can you verify that your eligibility has now been extend for 1-year?

You should now be able to renew your Fusion license by clicking on the Fusion product card > Get Product > Access.

Please keep us posted.

I was able to login on the web and see that my access was extended. I clicked the access button under Fusion360 which then initiated a new download. I didn't do anything with the download since I already have the software installed. I opened my existing software and it still says "expired... read only." I tried signing out and back in to the account a few times. Same results. Will it take a few hours before I see the update in the software?

Hi @pdelosa

Glad that your subscription has been extended. Cancelling the install was the correct thing to do.

It may take an hour or so for your renewed Fusion license to sync.  In an hour or so, try closing and restarting Fusion.

Please keep us posted.

Accepted solution

Hi @pdelosa

Our support team saw that you assigned a license to a gmail account but not your school email. They assign a license to your school email.

When you requested your Fusion license, you may have clicked on the Class/Lab and entered an email (this doesn’t automatically assign your account a license). If you click on the Individual tab, this will get you a license of Fusion without having to enter email addresses.

Thanks for your patience as we figure this out.

I am having this same issue for over two weeks. I also had this problem last year, the year before that and the year before that! The earliest time was when I was lecturing a class in intro to CAD and the licencing issue hit me then. How embarrassing to have an entirely avoidable login issue. I still cant get Eagle to go into online mode for teaching classes but that's a different thread entirely.
