Hobbyist License Can’t Renew

Dan B,

no the solution does not work. I also had a Hobbyist License and it won't refresh. Currently I'm stuck with a "Trial" that expires in 30 days. Some of us just use it to create some basic stuff for around the house. I think Autodesk needs to come out with a reasonable ($100-200) fee or just stop offering this kind of set up. I understand the current version is free but it still doesn't excite me to lose time learning a CAD that can just go "poof" at any point. What do we do to fix this? I've gone through the links you've put down multiple times and it just doesn't work... (TRY IT)

Thanks,

Jacob

Also should add, I deleted the folders and cleared the cache on Fusion. I also tried a fresh install.

Hi @drekkor

Can you please tell us what is not working in the original post about Libraries? The links I clicked on worked. if there is an error, we’ll try to correct it.

I believe Personal license replace Hobbyist. Have you applied for a Personal license of Fusion 360? Or are you also an educator?
Thanks,

-Dan

Dan, I have applied for a renewed personal or hobby license multiple times in the past month since Fusion360 said my account would expire. I originally downloaded fusion 360 with the intent of using it to homeschool during covid - however I understand I do not meet the requirements of an educator license.

The links work fine, it's the program or accounts that don't seem to work. No matter what I have tried it still says trial 30 days.

Hi @drekkor

Thanks for clarifying. As you found out, the Fusion 360 license data is not held locally. When you log in, the license type is validated. On Tuesday, I’ll create a ticket for the license team to look into your Personal license request. The licensing is handled by a different group and may take a couple days.

Hope this helps.

Hi @drekkor

Good news, the team was able to grant you a Personal license of Fusion 360. Since you're in a trial of Fusion 360, the trial will show until it expires and then the Personal license will start automatically.

Thanks,

-Dan

Thank you. What was the issue? My son also has a personal license on our other CAD machine I have not checked in a month or two... just trying to head off issues there.

Hi @drekkor

I'm not sure were the issue was. If your son is a student at an official education institution, he can acquire a Education license of Fusion 360. Here are the instructions. Fusion 360 - Single User Education Install Process

Hope this helps.
