On the space theme, my students have also had fun in the past designing versions of The NASA Curiosity, Perseverance, Oppportunity etc Mars Exploration Rovers using a constrained set of the "basic" shapes in F360 as a warm up.

 

For example, "it must use no less than 5 cylinders, but no more than 8" or "use a coil with at least 5 rotations and a triangular (external) section"  

 

You can do some really good fast ideation with the basic shapes... and its a nice transition from Tinkercad!
