cutting Splines on 4th axis

I having issues to make a tool path to cut splines on a axle.  I am trying to use a double end chamfer tool.  I want it to cut from the side of the material instead of it trying to cut from the top.  Any help would be great

A few basic keys to getting it right.

  • Get the correct tool orientation
    • Might need to use a sketch
  • Need to know the z offset distance. This is from the bottom of your tool to the cutting tip on the side.
  • Circular pattern is the easiest way to pattern the toolpath around the part.
