Constraints on Polygons?

I'm trying to fully constrain the pentagon, but not sure how to.  I have the center point of the pentagon constrained coincident to the vertical construction line.  Additionally, the bottom edge of the pentagon is constrained to be horizontal and .5 inches above the center of the rectangle.  What else can I do to fully constrain the pentagon?

Hi @andersonto

Thanks for posting the question. What happens when you click and drag on one of the endpoints in the pentagon? If possible, it would be helpful if you could export the .f3d file and post it.

Thanks,

-Dan

The endpoints don't move.  It looks like they have the coincident constraint automatically applied.  I'm posting the file here.

Hi @andersonto This looks to be an issue with the sketch solver. You sketch is fully constrained, but Fusion doesn't think so in this case.

If you dimension from the top horizontal line to the top vertical point, or from the origin point to any other point on the pentagon, the pentagon will show as fully constrained.

Thanks,

Kevin

When I try to add those additional dimensions, it's telling me the sketch
is over-constrained.

Hi @andersonto Sorry, I should have been more clear. Delete the dimension you have already placed that is from the origin to the bottom horizontal line. Then apply a dimension to one of the other points on the pentagon and it will show as fully constrained.

Hi @andersonto

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This issue has been logged into our system. If you'd like, you, can draw a pentagon by hand.

Thanks,

-Dan
