Access to generative design

Hello,

is there any way to get access to generative design without a "school email adres" since our school doesn't have any. I contacted support and the question has been escalated to another department they replied to me but this was over 2 months ago and haven't heard anything since. The director of the school contacted their autodesk contact and I've emailed multiple times since then and I'm just not getting any response.
This is the last module I need to finish to finish this study.

I already have send prove of being a student to customer support

Hi @aalleexx3d3d  Thanks for the explanation and details.

Did the accounts get verified as education accounts? Let me know where that process is at as it will determine the next steps.

Thanks,

Kevin

Not sure if this is what you meant, I got this email in april but got told I still needed a school email adress for generative design afterwards by customer support. And when I said that wasn't possible they escalated my question and haven't gotten back since.

Welcome, alex!

@aalleexx3d3d We are looking into the options you have. This might take just a bit, but you can expect a reply here as soon as we find out more info.

Thanks,

Hi @aalleexx3d3d Just wanted to let you know that we are still looking into this. The issue (as you know) is that generative requires a .edu email address. We are seeing if there are any ways this could be circumvented.

ok, thanks for taking the time to look into this , a bit of a weird situation since it's a school but also not a regular school. I could just finish the module and not use generative design but it is really the only thing that would really add something for me since I already had plenty of experience with all other modelling tools before starting with this class. And it feel like this might get a lot bigger in the future.

Hi @aalleexx3d3d

Thank you for your patience!
Unfortunately, you need to have an educational verified email domain to access Generative Design on a student license. We are looking into seeing if this experience can be improved and I have asked to see if we can find a workaround for your students specifically, but this may take some time.
Thank you for your understanding and sorry it probably isn't the news you wanted to hear!

Thanks for your reply, also had a talk at school and we might be getting .edu email adresses but that will probably also take some time. Already happy there is some communication now so I at least know what is going on!

I understand it might take a while but why is the post marked as solved now while it isn't yet?

@aalleexx3d3d I marked this as a solution as whilst I am seeing if there is a way to make a one-off exception for you given the circumstances, I wanted to make it clear to others reading that typically, students need to have a school or non-generic email to access generative design 🙂

Apologies if this was confusing but it was more for others reading this in the future than it was for you!
Thanks for understanding

Hi @aalleexx3d3d

Good news. We made a change that will now allow Autodesk Education accounts to access Generative Design, without requiring a school email address. Please try to log into Fusion and see if you can now run Generative Design.

Thanks,

-Dan
