How would I go about modeling something like these textured spheres, but using this specific texture?
Normally I would just project onto the surface but I need it to line up nicely so it appears seamless on the sphere.
Sample Image:
I have a sphere the size of a golf ball (42.67 mm), and I want to wrap the pattern of the column on the left around the ball. This is designed to roll in sand to create a pattern in the sand.
Thanks!
Hi @1054minimum
I'm answering this for @Warmingup1953 as I'm 50% sure he's asleep right now due to a rime difference or at work...
Basically, what he did is:
Also, I can see you are new to the forum, so from now on, as you see, I have done. Can you reply to the person your addressing instead of replying to the post, as this seems as if your giving an answer when you actually have a question about someone's answer.
this helps to organise the thread, and so the person will get the notification that someone replied to them, but for this time it's okay as it's only your first time and as I've mentioned @Warmingup1953 enough times now.
Happy new year Regards
Ricky
Sorry, I should have attached my file...Here it is faults and all! I could not get all the dashes to emboss nor could I achieve a 360-degree result so I expect that multiple emboss commands and perhaps Circular patterns may be needed but as I said here is my first go at it. I had a look at excellent work by the Sculptors at Olander Earthworks and deduced that a complete wrap of the pattern around the sphere may not always be possible so I didn't ponder the problem too far but rather concentrated on a section of the spare =+ a margin that would come into contact with the sand bed.
