Would love to have the ability to save a component as a linked component from an assembly without having to save-As and then re-add to the drawing.

Add an option to the right click menu of a component in the Browser....Save As Linked Component.

Also would love a right click option to open linked component location in the Data Panel. Would save having to hunt around when components are not in the same folders that you have open in the Data Panel.

Hello, your preference to be able to control it would mean creating a loop. this is dangerous and contradicts the basic idea of fusion. you would certainly lose track of larger or repetitive projects. it is included in the original work but "free". saving it "as" and re-inserting it "binds" it firmly into the new work. other users prefer a free version because it means that they do not always have to "edit directly" with updates.

You can derive a component out of an assembly into its own file in the data panel and then insert it from the data panel into other designs.

The derived componet in the data panel will not carry the timeline the original model has in the originating design. Changes to that component that you want to carry through from the original design should be made there.

The derive function is very powerful, so before using it I'd do a little more studying.
