Window:My Active Docs - what does it do?

Folks,

A quick question, what if anything does the "My Active Docs" do other than bring up a menu of my Fusion open files?  - see attached screenshot.

I was assuming it would pop the tab of the open file I choose, at the least, or, ideally, resume the F360 window if I have hidden it in the Dock ( I'm running Fusion360 on OS X).

At present this command does nothing other than show me a menu of my open files.  I'm wondering if this is just functionality to be added, or perhaps it works on the Windows builds, or maybe I've not enabled some setting to make it work properly?

Thanks

Hi @CruftMeister,

Thanks for sharing! To be honest, I have never even tried to use this option before I read this. I tested on both my Windows and Mac, and it seems this option is only available on the Mac, as those drop down menus do not exist on Windows. I tried to see if this option had any functionality on the Mac, but I am seeing the same behavior as you. Let me check in with our UI team and see what this command is all about.

Thanks,

Hi James,

Thanks, that would be cool.

Speaking personally - at least on OS X - it would be nice if it would pop the app out of the dock if it has been hidden.  I tend to use the Dock like the kitchen sink and so to go find the app when I've hidden the window is a bit of "hunt and score" to find the window.  I think also being able to use that command to get to the tab you want when the app window is not hidden would be great.  On a laptop with a lot of tabs open it can be a challenge.

I can move it to the support forum if appropriate . . .

Hi @CruftMeister,

Just got some info back from the team. On Mac, this should be the intended behavior - you select the Window and it will change to that tab. Unfortunately, it seems to be broken. This has since been logged and will be worked on.

Regarding Windows OS - this just has to do with the way UI's are built on Mac vs Windows. Mac it comes free with the File menu along the top, whereas Windows does not have this.

Thanks,
