I'm trying to make a corner to my phone case design. When I try to loft between the sides it won't work. What should I do?Autodesk Fusion 360 (Education License) 2018-10-02 16_45_38.png

Can you export it as an .f3d file and post it here?

you probably need at least one rail curve here, to guide the loft.  As @whittakerdw requested, share your model here...

@jeff_straterThats what I was thinking but I couldn't think of a good way to explain it and make it understandable.

Looking at your design I'd say that you are trying to move to quickly into more complex topics before really understanding any of the basics.

Maybe first go through some of the educational materials in the Support and Learning section. You'll likely have a better understanding of how to do this afterwards and see things with different eyes.

To add to what @TrippyLighting says, here are a few concerns I found in this model:

first the tops of the sides are not aligned:

you can see that in the Y (vertical) direction, these points are .125 mm separated.

Second, you can tell that that you are missing some tangency conditions on one side, that you probably want to have here:

But, the real problem is the little sliver face here:

so, when it looks like you are selecting this face:

that selection actually includes the sliver face:

which is what I think is really causing your loft problems.  I was able to get a result, but it looks like this:

where you can see the effect of this splinter face

Accepted solution

Before confronting the lofting challenges, there are some problems with misaligned forms that I reckon should be addressed first.

Yes, it worked. I had to line up the sides better, it was a small gap between them. Thanks, everyoneworked.png
