Why is auto Recovery not working at all?

I've lost around 2 hours of work, because Fusion crashed while saving a library.

I had an electronics project open that got corrupted, because schematic and PCB got out of sync (I only worked on the Schematic to that time) and the saved PCB was newer than the schematic (I added more parts that were only present in the PCB recovery file after crash).

WHY? can this happen? I've set the time to save automatic recovery files to 5 minutes, how is it possible that everything gets messed up? the PCB recovery file was maybe a few minutes old, the schematic more than one hour?

Could you please fix your stupid recovery system?
This is broken for me for at least a year, how could something such important (if your software is that unstable) could be broken for such a long time?

I'm really thinking of switching to some other EDA tool because you just are not able to make the most basic things working stable. The only thing holding me back is the MCAD / ECAD integration (We have five licences at our company).

Unfortunatelly Fusion still can't make recovery backup for unsaved file (Untitled).

Pls. save at the begining of the work at least once.

@autodesk: pls fix, it is really annoying. Or at least force users to always save file at the beginning or after some autosave recovery time is due.

Hello @radzimir ,

I hope you're doing well. @HelenChen-Autodesk This is another one to look into to see if there are any open tickets for this, thank you for the help.

This is a general Fusion feature and not strictly unique to Electronics. Now a couple of things to clarify, a file gets autosaved every x mins (5 by default) only when there are changes. If a file hasn't been touched for an hour then you won't have 12 auto saves of the same thing. So don't let that surprise you.

We'll see what we can do to inform the larger Fusion org to see what can be done.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Yes, simply implement an autosave for unnamed files. You can do it easy way by prompting user to choose a name after first autosave interval is over.
