Hi,
beginner (self learning) here.
I have created a form with six lines (that i think connect perfectly). However, i can't select the form. What am i missing? What should i look for to check if i did it right?
The contour is in the top of my sketch (see the jpg i attached)
Thank you very much!!
Bart

Just a guess without seeing the sketch. Edit the sketch and look at the Sketch Palette, do you have Show Profiles checked? Also at the bottom of the same palette, do you have 3D Sketch checked? 3D sketch will not show Profile.

I did have both checked. I unchecked the 3d sketch check, but that didn't do the trick. Thank you for trying to help me out!
Kind regards, Bart
You are mixing 3D sketches into a 2D sketch. The vertical lines are not no the same plane as the base sketch. They will be ignored in this sketch. You will need to create a second sketch, on the same plane for them. If you open your sketch, select all your sketch with a Window, then right click you will see that the complete sketch is not on the same plane.

So in a skecth, all the lines should be in the same plane? So if i would repair this problem in my skecth i would have to make 3 sketches as i am trying to build in 3 planes?
Hi,
Here is an example of how to create the pyramid using sketches on offset planes with the Loft tool.

Correct.

Can you Attach your completed file here. I suspect that the modeling technique can be significantly improved.
Hi TheCADWhisperer,
i know for sure the my modeling technique could improve and am curious to know how. I added the 3fd file in the beginning. Or are you asking for something else?
Kind regards,
Bart
I want to thank all of you for helping me understand this better. The making of the mp4's that give me a lot of insight. I hope you realize that this helps me very much and makes me want to learn more of the tool.
Thank you!
Kind regards Bart

@fambodeboer
You marked the problem as solved - you must have a new file to attach with solution implemented.
Thank you for pointing this out to me. I have just added the file to my earlier post.
Kind regards, Bart
Don't you see a bunch of anomalies?
Are your sketches fully defined (no blue lines or white dots)?
Are there any unresolved issues highlighted in your Timeline?
Does CTRL b (on Windows) or CMD b (on Mac) return any errors?
Should these features be symmetrical?
Do you want to learn how to do this correctly (Warning: Will require starting over from scratch)?
Good evening (in NL it's evening) CADwhisperer,
first: thank you for offering that kind of help. I believe you caught me being a total novice in 3d drawing :). I learn by doing. My son laughed at me when he saw that my first try contained 64 sketches (i didn't know i could edit a sketch and then go on where i left off last time). That is also the reason why i drew 3 planes in 1 sketch (i thought i could draw everything in one sketch); i never considered that every plane i draw on should have at least 1 sketch of its own.
When G-andresen drew a large part of my hard work in just a few minutes (where as i did that in a few days) i was laughing out loud at my computer (still smiling when thinking back to that moment).
I do want to learn to improve because i feel i like drawing this way. However i do not have that kind of time. The drawing i'm making is part of a halloween project for this year. I have another halloween project lying around here so i want to finish things first before i start all over again (thank you for that warning). I did make a note to myself to visit this post again when i have time to analyse what was happening in the recording from G-Andresen, learn about the problem of a white dot (haven't a clue yet), blue lines (all my lines are blue? but i guess the problem is staring me in the face), how to resolve the anoying errors in my timeline (i deleted items from my body but it seems something else remains and is missing its component) and last (but probably not least) i have to learn to make things symetrical (i did try but somewhere it went wrong).
I did learn new things from you and G-Andresen. That makes me want to learn more. Thank you for all that help because i am afraid to think what i would have created next to build around the problems i was facing when i first asked my question to begin with.
Thank you!!
Kind regards,
Bart
The body that i will print will be hidden so the anomalies (in the above picture) are no problem.

A stitch in time saves nine.
Go ahead and waste your time.
