I find it incredibly annoying when I cant create a sketch in drawing because there are basically no options. Fusion doesn't even allow two different CAD files to be on the same drawing either. What issue do the developers have with implementing this??? No references/guides in sketch, no projection from one sketch to the other, nothing. Its basically freehand drawing. I might as well give up using this software.

vs Sketch in modelling (and it also gives you guides and references while sketching)

Hello @engineering6Z53W ,

When we have 2 different files, we cannot add it to the same drawing file and it is a limitation right now in fusion. but if we have an assembly which has multiple xrefs we can include it in same drawing file. Apart from that drawings sketch has options such as sketch dimension and constraints now which can be used to similar to sketch in design side, I agree that we have options missing in drawings workspace and is not exactly similar to design workspace.

Can you please list out exact options you would need in sketch?

Also to mention, we have another feature in sketch improvement this year i.e view sketch which will allow users to  create a sketch that can be associated to a drawing view(cannot ensure when this will be released, but in our roadmap)

Thanks!

I've been blowing this trumpet for some time - https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-design-validate-document/fusion-drawing-sketches-api-overall-i... . Fusion Drawing module is a horrible mess that really holds the entire system back because in its current state it's only serviceable for small teams doing one-offs and prototyping. As soon as you get into the territory of long-term drawing maintenance - you're better off with any other CAD on the market. And this is purely because of Fusion Drawing inadequacy. All other parts of the system are fine. I would really like to understand why is this the case. I can understand how some companies try to push for making drawings obsolete by intoducing model based definition or some such things I don't believe will ever work. But Autodesk seems to just not allocate resources for Drawing module development. And that for years.
