In a few weeks I'll have to start CADing for a 2018 robotics competition that my high school takes part in and I'm not sure whether to create a new project for this or to continue from last year's project. Lots of designs and downloaded files like screws and gears will carry over from last year's robot to this year's robot and because I can't find a way to move certain parts or folders from one project to another, I'm thinking that creating a new folder in the 2017 project is the best option.
I would like to organize the 2018 folder into subfolders containing an inventory folder, subassemblies folder, and a final assembly folder so would it be more logical to save copies of the existing files in the 2017 project to a new project or to continue working in the old 2017 project?
How do you guys organize large assemblies with hundreds of parts and projects that share lots of the same designs/files?
Thanks!
Below is a picture of how I would like to organize all the files in the data panel, I'm just not sure whether I should do this in a new project or in a new folder in last year's project.
