What when ALT + 1 is not working

I understand that ALT + 3 cannot always work in Sculpt, but what is going on when ALT + 1 is not working? So, very often I cannot go from smooth to box mode in Sculpt. And Fusion then only goes to box mode when I delete an edge or face.

Can you share a sample design with us, where ALT+1 or the box mode command is not working? I've tried with some very simple sculpt bodies, but have not been able to reproduce so far. Are the sculpt (T-splines) bodies complex or simple?

Perhaps it depends on what you have actively selected when using the ALT+1 shortcut. If there is more than one sculpt body present, must have something selected on the body that you would like to view in box mode. If you don't have a face, edge, or vertex selected, the body will not toggle between views.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Ah, okay, thanks. I am still figuring out how things work in Fusion and right now I think it always happens/ed after I broke symmetry of duplicated objects, because I (also) missed that ALT + 1/2/3 just works without selected geometry when Fusion "sees" just one object.

Personally I think it would be great if some preference could be added so that I can have ALT + 1/2/3 toggle the view's display mode: All objects box mode e.g. Having to select geometry of two objects to change the mode, deselect geometry to not get distracted by blue surfaces, to finally again select geometry of two objects to change mode back again is #MakeAnythingQuiteOften Man LOL

Hi @Anonymous

I don't know about ALT + 1/2/3 toggle in Sculpt mode.

According to Help for switching view modes there are CTRL + 1/2/3 key combinations:

Hi @josef.kucera, I guess Help needs to be updated, because CTRL + 1/2/3 doesn't do anything in Sculpt mode!

@Anonymous

You are perfectly right but it has to be a new behavior which is not documented or broken because MAC version uses CTRL + 1/2/3 which is right according to help.

I will report it to our internal system.

Thanks.

Josef
