Wall thickness

Hey Guys, i have a problem (besides that i am a Fusion newbie).

I can't make my outer wall thicker (for 3D printing) is there a trick to do this?
If i try it with Push/Pull then it generates a error if i go over 0.1 mm 😞

Apologies if you already did this, but have you tried the modify => shell command?

Hi,

There are too many sharp angles in you model, and the thicken command will fail for more than a certain value, and looking at your design, it's a really small value

Could you share your design so that we can take a look

This is a bit of a heavy handed solution, but it will get you printing-

This is also assuming that this is the back part and won't be seen, just needs to be printable.

-on the original sketch trace another closed profile by hand, offset from the original.  It isn't necessary to follow the original exactly.  In fact I would greatly simplify it, taking out kinks and creating areas with more material at places where it gets thin.

-instead of extruding as a surface, extrude the new profile you just created.

So, I actually, you know, LOOKED at your design.  I think your best (but slow) option is to do basically what I said above, but accurately.  With all those crazy angles and narrow places your not going to get any of the offset or thicken type commands to work.

welcome to Fusion

I am 100% sure thickness fails because your design has flames where the wall distance is smaller than + 0.1mm

Dont extrude the sides up but extrude the profile as a solid and then try the shell command in model work space

I just got done doing the same thing and mine has lots of angles too.  Do it from your edit sketch.  You can see the thickness if you enlarge it.  The numbers should be in the upper right corner.  I have the same issue.  It looks good on paper, until I need to print it.
