V carve look in design and render

Hello,

 

I am struggling with achieving a V-Carve look in my designs. Basically I need to make the design look like it has been v-carved on cnc and then render it. So far I was not able to find a solution to implement this efficiently especially since there are a lot of uneven surfaces (spline won't for for example).

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could set this up in the manufacture workspace and use the engrave op, then simulate at a high accuracy and export the simulation model as an STL mesh. Only problem is it looks a quite complicated model so calculation time might be long. Might need to use more then one engrave op to speed up calculation time.

Is the Medusa plate an example of what you want to achieve? Or is it the file itself?

Hi, it is what I want to achieve. I did not do it as I cannot figure out how. I tried debossing, extrude at an angle, swiping...nothing works.

Trying to do this as a solid body with tapered sides will be quite difficult, can you use a mesh body?

Here's a quick example using the manufacture workspace and engrave. I used an SVG I helped someone else within the past.

 

You just need a sketch.

Then setup an engrave op

Then simulate the toolpath.

Then you can export as an STL mesh.

Then import into Fusion and you can apply an appearance in the render workspace.
