Using Sweep to create groove inside irregular solid

I have an irregular shape made up of separate elements - eventually these will be separate components.  I've defined a offset plane using "plane along path" and used that to sketch a rectangular profile at a right angle to the surface of one element.  I want to use Sweep to cut away that profile all around the interior.  However, Sweep won't allow me to select all the edges to form the path.    I only seem to be able to select one edge for the path.rabbet.JPG

Essentially, I want to cut a recess (I think technically it is called a rabbet) on the bottom, on the inside of this open shape.  Any suggestions?   Thanks!

Hi,

simply project the contour into a new sketch (path)

you need to hold down CTRL (CMD on Mac) to be able to add to the path.  So:  activate the Path input, hold down CTRL, and you can add more edges to the path:

Thanks! That fixed it.  For some reason I was having trouble selecting the edges I wanted, to form the path in sweep, but projecting the edges onto a new path in a new sketch was the right answer

Thanks for all the replies!  For some reason, using the CTRL key to add additional segments to the path did not work.  Don't know if it was a glitch in my keyboard, in F360, or what, but Sweep just wouldn't let me add additional edges.   Projecting those edges onto a path in a new sketch, before I opened Sweep, did work.      Thanks again!
