Using "Assets" in new Team Hub

Today I made the mistake of "migrating" to a Hub which has broken Fusion. I have no access to any of my tool libraries, machine configurations, templates, etc. All sorts out of whack.

I've spent about 30 minutes googling trying to understand what to do with the file "name - assets" but have found no way to access them.

How is this "migration" supposed to work? Following this:

They should just.... be there?

Hi @M&GToolWorks
After migrating to the Fusion team all the library will be transferred to the Fusion team hub. Please switch to Fusion team hub and look for the folder "Team hub name - Asset" Project folder.
If you still can't find the library use import option from the Local folder can be found at the following folder path:

  • Windows: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\CAM360\libraries\Local
  • Mac: ~/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/CAM360/libraries/Local

Hello,

Based on your instructions, they should just be there.

"They will then be added automatically to the Cloud Tool Libraries and shown in the cloud section of the Fusion Tool Library shortly."

But they aren't.

Under my assets folder, I have "CAMTools". Under Tool Library in Manufacturing under Cloud, I have no tools.

Looking at the file location you provided, there is nothing there. Which makes sense because my tool libraries and everything else is cloud based. So am I supposed to download my assets, to where? and then upload them?

After migrating to a team hub if you go to the top level (All Projects) is there a project "Your Name - Assets", your old assets should be there.  See this thread for more info.

Yes, the "Your Name - Assets" folder is there.

The other instructions provided stated:

"Once you have upgraded, then you can simply move/copy the contents into the existing Assets library."

Which I did.

So, neither of those instructions work, Fusion actually wants you to download all of these items and then upload them?

Are you using the web interface then going into each folder, selecting all the files then select copy and copying to the correct folder in the assets project?

Hi @M&GToolWorks

Could you please raise a Fusion live chat or schedule a call at your convenience. Our team is happy to help you.

When trying to access machine models, Fusion somehow picks up the machine model from my single user hub, which I can no longer access.

Have you managed to copy all your assets from your old asset project to the team's Asset library?

You can only do this in the web interface not the data panel.

You can see here in Chrome I have the option to copy into the Assets library.

No, all the instructions state is:

"Once you have upgraded, then you can simply move/copy the contents into the existing Assets library."

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Single-Storage-is-...

Might be helpful to put that into the instructions, that users will need to manually move each file. It's not exactly.... intuitive.

I will start manually migrating the contents of each folder.

I have no access to my old assets. As soon as I "migrated" I lost any access. So hopefully Fusion migrated everything.

Everything that was in your old Assets library should have been copied into a project in your new team hub, the project should be have the name of your old hub and assets. For me it was "Mark Hughes-Assets".

Because I had 2 single user hub I ended up with 2, see image below (I've archived the old assets projects in the image). I'm guessing the reason they were not copied directly to the assists library was because you could end up with several copies of each machines and tools etc..

Once you navigate into the project containing your old assets library it a simple job to just copy the files you need into the assets library, no need to download you can do it all in Chrome.

Were you able to get your machines to move? I manually copied the tooling files and other files, but machine definitions do not work.
