Using/passing Parameters from parts in assembly

Hello,

I am looking for a way to pass/use/edit parameters set in parts from assembly (see example below for clarity), bonus points make them usuable between parts (from different files to clarify, if the parts are all in the same file then it exist already but that method doesn't scale).

I have searched for hours but cannot find anything, the way to do this in Solidworks is using design tables for thoses who are familiar. Does it exist and I missed it?

Example: In my assembly I have part A and part B, they have respectively a "lenght_A" and "Lenght_B" in their parameters, but once they are in the assembly I cannot see or edit "lenght_A" nor "Lenght_B" anymore.

Many Thanks!

You can only edit parameters in the source file. Doesn't matter if you use the derive or the insert design function. You can only use those.

If you want to edit those, you have to go to the source or you can brake the link (but than you're not receiving any design updates anymore".

Edit: If you're using the derive function, you have to mark parameters as favorite before and you have to drive those, too. But AFAIK you can't edit them.
