Using a parameter in a dimension

Sometimes, when I use a parameter name as a dimension, the parameter is "live," i.e. changing it in the parameters table changes the dimension.  For example, I make a parameter called "length" and use the word "length" as the dimension for some sketch line.  Changing the "length" parameter in the table will, in fact, change the length of the line.

But other times, Fusion seems to take the *current* value of that parameter, and that's all.  Changing the "length" parameter in the table *will do nothing.*

Is this a known bug?  Is there a workaround?

Can you please attach am file that contains a parameter that behaves in this manor.  I know you said it is sporadic but Autodesk will want to have an example of this in order to determine the problem and solution.

if i can make a minimal example, i'll attach it.

note my question was:

"Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround?"

is there a bug database somewhere that we can see?

Given your answer below, how do you know?  Do you mean you haven't personally bumped into it?

Why not?  It's common for tools vendors to want a way to collaborate on deciding what's important to fix.

I agree with @TrippyLighting 's assessment here.  We keep a close watch on this and other forums, as well as customer support, in addition to doing extensive testing on our own.  To the best of my knowledge, I am unaware of any cases, in a parametric design and a parametric sketch, where a dimension that references a parameter does not update if the parameter is changed.  Again:  in a parametric sketch.  If you have a sketch that was created in a Base Feature, or a Form Feature, that sketch is not parametric, and will not associatively update with parameter changes.  Again, if you have a case that shows this, that would be helpful in fixing it.

Autodesk, as a policy, does not let outside people have access to the bug database.  There are many reasons, one of which is IP protection.  The bugs often contain source code, or detailed architectural descriptions that would not be appropriate to reveal to the outside world.

I've used a good range of 2D and 3D CAD software professionally for over 3 decades. I am not aware of anyone sharing their database with bugs and priorities.

Never seen any problems like this with sketch dimension but I have seen problems with patterns where you use a parameter when you create the pattern but when you go back only the number is stored, not the parameter. Most of these bugs have been fixed but you might have found one that hasn't. Please share a design if you can repeat the problem.
