Uploads never finish.

This upload thing drives me nuts.  If Fusion360 is going to be cloud based, it needs to work without effort like dropbox or similar.

I have a hung upload, the only apparent way to fix is to restart the program.

My suggestion is this.  The developers need to try this on subpar internet, say bandwidth limited to 5mb, and then unplug the cable partway through the upload.  It will never recover.  My diagnostic logs include "ERROR: Response Data: INTERNET_DISCONNECTED" so I suppose once it thinks internet is gone it never retries.

Hi @friesendrywall,

Can you attach the log files?  We can have someone in that group take a look at what kinds of errors you are seeing.

Thanks,

Jeff

I guess my point again is, when you are developing on a 100mb fiber connection, you won't get these types of issues.  I am on a wireless connection, but there are momentary disconnections, which are typically only noticeable with voip and similar.

Thanks for the log files.  Usually slower connections are OK, it just takes longer.  But, we'll take a look at the logs and see if anything reveals itself.

Hi,

Sorry to hear of your trouble with Fusion 360.

On the upload, it does appear there's a file called Probe cap.f3d that's "stuck" in the queue. Does this file show up in your project? If so or you want to restart the upload you can terminate the ongoing upload by renaming the file UploadQueuedFileList.xml. This file can be found at: c:\users\username\appdata\local\autodesk\autodesk fusion 360\{alphanumericfoldername}\w.login

Regarding the network connection speed, etc. we do test at various network bandwidths but we will confirm the suggested speeds you noted.

Hope this helps and thanks for your input!

If I go offline and back on, it also tends to cure this.

This would happen more often with a larger file (1 mb, which isn't really large).

Since you are for real on this testing, you shouldn't unplug it from your test machine, you have to do it upstream, probably at a switch or incoming on the router.  If you unplug from your test machine, it recognizes that the hardware doesn't have anything connected, and deals with it different than an offsite internet issue.

Previous Post:

His queue is empty. I tried to replicate his issue by disconnecting my ethernet mid upload and the error in the log was:
'Entered into Offline mode. Reason: No Internet' while his says
'ERROR: Response Data: INTERNET_DISCONNECTED'

Does this issue occur often for you? Seems to me like fusion isn't detecting when you regain connection, I don't even see anywhere in your log file of it recognizing you as having internet again, and at the same time it didn't kick you into offline mode like it should have.

My bet is that it didn't catch the error, and therefore didn't kick you off into offline mode, and because you never got kicked off into offline mode, it never tried to restart/resume the upload.

Agh, wrong account got logged into.

Anyways I figured unplugging my machine might have thrown off a different event handler. Gunna have to walk over to the router and unplug that mid upload to see what the result it. The fact that going offline then back on cures the issue leads me to believe fusion just isn't detecting network drops properly. I'll report back with findings.
