Upload failing

This is another incident that getting very old.   This time the Rhino file was exported to .dwg and uploaded through the application.  There's something failing in the application.  As well as the A360 site.  I next tried to upload files through the browser and that too fails.  This sort of thing, and the time it will take to get it working correctly is not a positive thing.  I've enough time sucking obstacles in everyday life without waiting on an application to work.  Man, I'm unhappy this last few days.  When they come to a close I've this angry sense of wasted time - one's life is limited, and to be using it up on this sort of thing is offensive.

Attached are screencast showing the first incident and then the second.  I'll have to go back and find the email that explained how to clear out the uploads cache to get back to 'normal' which in this case is less than professional.

How does a company with such a long history of excellent applications have so much difficultly passing along the accomplishment??

(I'd include the second screencast but that's beyond the scope to the screencast function.

It sounds like there is a translation issue going on here with the DWG file. DWG file format is a bit complex and can contain many different types of geometries. Some of which make a lot of sense in Fusion, some of which don't really jive well.

Can I ask what exactly you're looking import? Is it just sketch geometry or is 3D surface/body geometry?

If it is sketch geometry, perhaps it would be easier to use a DXF file format with the Insert command?

If it is 3D geometry why not try a SAT, STEP, IGES or the native Rhino 3DM file format? I note the File > New Design from File command supports SAT, STEP and IGES file formats. These are the de facto neutral 3D file formats.

With regards to the second video. When you upload to the Dashboard, it does not convert the file format to a native Fusion design. You'll note the design has a different icon in the data panel and it also contains a file extension in the name to help differentiate from a native Fusion design. You would need to right click on the file in the data panel and select, Create Fusion Design to convert it into something that could be opened in Fusion.

The below link contains more specifics about opening files this way.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the help.  I've some more questions.

As per yours - "When you upload to the Dashboard, it does not convert the file format to a native Fusion design. You'll note the design has a different icon in the data panel and it also contains a file extension in the name to help differentiate from a native Fusion design. You would need to right click on the file in the data panel and select, Create Fusion Design to convert it into something that could be opened in Fusion."

In the clip you can see the uploaded models but I cannot reveal their original names using the RCM or the info button.  I can't find this information on the 360 site either
