Hi, the 2 edges highlighted in blue are projected edges, using these 2 edges I then complete the rectangle and then I use the offset tool 2 times to generate tolerances as required (2 outer rectangles in construction lines). I then align using constraints the rectangle I actually want to cut. Both of the offset rectangles were offset outwards (to give tolerance), but when I update references (after moving the tabbed parts), some of the shapes do what you can see in the picture (some stay in correct position). The position moved away from offsetting outwards on some of the sides. You can see the top side somehow changed to be offset inwards, while at the bottom the offset remained outwards. This change specifically happens when updating an in-context feature (after updating the position of my parts that is being derived from). Can someone explain to me why this is happening? To me it feels like the offset cannot distinguish outer/inner direction when updated using an in-place context. Its like it solves the distance the offset should be, but cannot determine on which side it should be. (The correct absolute offset distance remains in place, but the side it is on can sometimes change).
Hi! It sounds like a bug but it can be a limitation. If possible, please share the files here. The forum experts can help take a look to understand the update issue better.
Many thanks!
