Units when uploading files

When I upload a file to Fusion, the units are set to millimeters. The files being uploaded are sketched in DeltaCAD and the units are set to inches. In Fusion, I have inches set as the default units. I usually don't find that this issue until I go to extrude the sketch and its in millimeters. It's not like it's troublesome and a huge waste of time to switch the units to inches, I just didn't know if there were another setting for units of uploaded files or something that I needed to change as well.

The online translators are not linked to Fusion's defaults, I guess the default is to create a mm translation. What file type are you importing.

I am importing a dxf file

If it's 2d have you tried insert dxf on the insert menu? It will insert into your current design and if the units are set correctly in the DXF all scale to your current units correctly.

I haven't tried that way. I'll give that a shot.

It worked that way. From now on when uploading dxf's I will have to remember to do it that way. It still automatically switches to metric when uploading STP files and such.

I'm just chiming in to say that I've passed along your feedback - we've had similar conversations around STLs, and it seems like this is a similar area we could improve upon.

No update from fusion yet, despite acknowledgement of the issue 5 years ago...

Just finding this thread because i am having the same issue.

It's a PIA to do with every file in a large batch, but with DXF's it works to scale the whole sketch by 2.54 about the origin.
