Understanding motion of drawer slide joints

Hi

I'm in the process of modelling the motion of drawer slide rails, most of all as an educational project.

I use an imported model (2712A8_Self-Closing Steel Drawer Slides) of the drawer slide from McMaster-Carr, to which I am adding motion.

Both bearings and slides should move. Bearings should move half the distance of the slide i figure. Ball bearings are motion linked with their respective slides. And it almost works.

Weird thing is that if you open the file and manually slide the "Drawer rail" component, the "Middle rail" component immediately slides with, whereas i would expect it only to slide once the "Drawer rail" slide joint has been full extended. That is how it worked before adding slide joints to the ball bearings.

If I instead select the slide joint of the "Drawer rail" and press "Animate Joint Relationships", then it is only the Drawer rail and respective bearings which move.

I would love input on what is causing two different behaviors, depending on whether I manually drag or animate the joint

File is added below

Regards

I have not fully analyzed your design, but I can already say that I would not expect to see ant position capture features in such a design.

Also, I would NOT use the Pin feature but the Ground-to-parent feature.
