Unable to delete Body5 object

Hi all,

I have the following project for a two-way toggle switch

https://a360.co/308fIx2

somewhere along the way, I have done something I'm not supposed to, and now I cannot delete the sphere "Body5".

The build log contains the following errors

Sketch15

1 Reference Failures

The sketch plane is lost, Cache is used. Please redefine the sketch to select other plane!

SpherePrimitive1
1 Reference Failures

The body reference is lost, try editing this feature to reselect the lost body.

1 Reference Failures

The primitive profile reference is lost.

If I redefine sketch plane, by right clicking on the sketch on the side menu, for Sketch15, this error goes away. but I cannot get rid of the SpherePrimative1 body reference error.

Can anyone help me and tell me how to delete this object.

Thanks in advance 🙂

Both errors indicate why it's a bad idea to delete sketches or bodies that are referenced later in the Timeline.

@jeff_straterBody5 is read only and there doesn't appear to be any way to change it.

Dear @dhevans79,

Knowing the difference between Delete and Remove is very crucial.

When you delete an object, you delete it completely from the timeline and the ONLY way to get it back, is from the cache by clicking on Redo right after the deletion.

If you deleted an object and restarted F360, you won't be able to get it back longer!

Which is why you must be VERY careful when you delete an object. You need to make sure that you are not using this object as a reference!

Which is also why it is best to use the Remove command because you are not removing the object from the Timeline entirely but only from future and you can always go back and restore it.

In your case, you don't have a chose but to recreate this model from the beginning. Please don't forget to follow R.U.L.E #1

Cheers / Ben

@dhevans79 - thanks for sharing the design.  I see the same thing - there is a Sculpt body that cannot be deleted.  The interesting thing here is that in a parametric design, there should never be a standalone Sculpt body - they should be hidden on exit from Sculpt.  So, we are very curious about how this occurred.  If you have any recollection of the history of this body, we would be very interested.  If you have old versions of the design that show this body in a more functional state, we'd be interested in that as well.  Thanks.

Thanks for looking at the file. This was the first model I did in Fusion, so I have no idea how to recreate the issue. I was randomly clicking and adding/deleting objects to try to build my model. I was just trying to find a ball-type shape. I don't have any other versions of the file, so I can't help there either.

In any case, at least understanding why I can't delete it is lesson enough, and I'll try not to break it next time. I didn't manage to recreate the problem on my second model, so must be making progress 😉
