Trying to create a terrain map

Hello everyone,

I am trying to design my house and terrain to plan changes to it. As it involves digging and moving soil, I'm trying to have an as-accurate-as-possible surface for the ground.

Using strings and a laser level, I have created a 2.5m grid and measured the elevation from a reference.

I then created numerous planes and sketches with points at the coordinates I had defined.

My idea was to connect the sketches using loft or with surface modeling, but I am a total noob with the later.

Here is a link to my file: https://a360.co/4pfdUxr

Should the link not work, I've exported the f3d and attached it.

I have drawn the house to illustrate, and I'm trying to design the terrain. Using surface modeling got me somewhere but I deleted it as I found out it was not complying with my sketches.

What's the best way to do this ?

Thank you very much for your assistance !

This would be easier if these points matched up.

This would be much easier if the terrain was laid out before the any earth moving for the building.

Then would do simple Extrude-Cuts for the excavated earth.

If you can't figure out how to add material here - post back.

There is a drop in the terrain today, with a retaining wall. I'm planning to move the basement entrance on the other side hence why I'm drawing it.

I can tweak some of the sketches, what is the main concern or thing to avoid ?

What function did you use to create those surfaces?

Can I create several surfaces and stitch them together?

Apologies for the noobiness, I haven't learnt the surface flow yet. Any good videos covering what I'm doing would be much appreciated, I had no luck searching on YouTube.

Thank you, sir. Very helpful - much appreciated.
I understand the workflow and will adjust my sketches and recreate your operations to practice. Thanks again!
