Trouble Patterning a linked component

When I try to pattern a part linked with x-refs the orientation of the patterned parts is wrong. The pattern operation previews fine but then when I hit ok the parts jump to a new location and orientation.After.png

@owenhooker

Thank you very much for the video. This is a perfect case where if we can repeat it, we can fix it. You are helping the community here! 🙂

I have a few more questions:

  1. See the attached image. Is this where the linked file appears when you first insert it?
  2. Does this problem happen for all inserted components to this file?
  3. Or, does this problem happen when you insert that particular part into any file?

  • If it seems like a problem part, can you Export> .f3d and attach it here?
  • If it seems like the problem is the destination assembly, can you invite me to the project so I can get a copy of the data? (let me know, I'll IM you my email address)

It seems to me that it is a problem with the assembly. the area you highlighted is not where it was originaly inserted. I tried inserting a new a few other parts into the same assembly and still had the problem. Only once did I not have the problem and that was on a part that didnt move before patterning it but this wasnt always the case with other parts that hadnt been moved. when I inserted the same parts into another assembly I did not have the problem. Send me your email and I'll add you to the project.

Thanks, got it logged. [internal report FUS-20642] The information you provide are good clues.

I did find that newly inserted copies of the little barrel shaped part could be patterned successfully. Have you had any luck working around it? I don't want you to be stuck because of this.

Thanks,

FYI: Just tested the fix, it looks good. Unfortunately this was not ready in time for the next update. If anyone finds something similar and you feel like sharing, I'll test your models against the fix which will not be available for at the least several weeks.

Thanks,
