Trouble getting inlays on guitar fretboard

Here is the specific problem I need help with:  I would like to cut out the inlays and frets on the Fretboard with my CNC machine.  I have a drawing of the inlays so I downloaded that image onto the canvas in Fusion 360.  (I first converted the image to a vector using Abode Illustrator and bring it in as an SVG file but it had over 950 points and I could never get it to work so I finally gave up and decided to trace it out.) I then drew the fretboard  to the exact dimensions (a rectangle that is a little wider on one side than the other).  I then positioned the canvas at the origin and over the fretboard and sized it to the exact measurements of the inlays.   I traced the inlays using the drawing tools onto the fretboard.  I then put in all the frets.  To do the frets I carefully measured each fret from the nut and drew a construction line.  I then had to draw a 2 point rectangle that is only .064 inches wide and center that narrow rectangle between the construction lines.  All this took considerable time as you can imagine (25 frets and 10 inlays).

The problem came when I tried to extrude first the fretboard and then the inlays and frets.  The central problem is that the drawing is on the bottom of the fretboard! My question:  How do I get the drawing to be placed on the top of the fretboard?

My latest attempt was to created a separate file to contain the inlays and frets.  I then created the fretboard and then tried to bring the inlay/fret file into the fretboard file.  Before bringing the inlay/fret file in I created an "off-set" plane on the fretboard file that is .25 inches from the plane that the fretboard is sitting on.   I tried to select the off set plane to bring in the inlay/fret file but it would not give me that option.     I will be glad to share my project with anyone who can help.  Dan

Because the extrude tool has so many options, it shouldn't be necessary to move the sketch to get it to extrude your inlay areas.  Here is a screen cast of one of the several ways you could do this.

You can also right click the sketch (in timeline or browser) and select "redefine plane," selecting the top face as the new plane.  The result can be a bit dicey though b/c the new sketch position is relative to the origin of the new plane, which sometimes isn't where you think it will be.

Thank you sooooo much!  The first solution did not work (I probably did something wrong) but in the second solution you gave me the vital bit of information I needed.  I selected the drawing from the timeline and picked "redefine sketch plane" and picked the offset plane.  Everything worked great after that!  Thanks again!
