Transferring to a new account

I do voluntary work for a charity here in UK. Over the last four/five years or so I've created almost 400 models in Fusion, using a reduced cost licence from TechSoup NFP,  This license terminates in the next 5 days, and TechSoup say they have revised their definition of a non-profit organisation cannot renew the licence at the previous rate, and the charity cannot afford the revised price. If I am forced to operate with the personal (free) version of Fusion, will I continue to use the current login, but with reduced function, or do have to start afresh with a completely empty system?

Hi,

Typically an account is linked to an email address, at least mine is. AFAIK if your license expires

then you will probably revert back to the Hobbyist License. You should still be able to login using

your email, provided you don't lose access to that email. In terms of what you can do then most

of the restrictions with the hobbyist license are more along the manufacturing and fabrication

areas. If you do a lot of CNC cutting and machining there may be some restrictions. If you mainly

model then you probably will not notice very much. The Hobbyist License gives you basic

functionality that a hobbyist is likely to use and restricts mainly the stuff they are less likely to

use. I believe that Simulations are limited to Static and a few things like that.

If you are using Fusion for a Non-profit Manufacturing setup then you might have to bite the bullet

and shell out the license fee. That being said, the basic paid license is fairly reasonable. If you are

running a full plant and building Aircraft Carriers or the next Mars Mission - too bad, pay up.

Cheers

Andrew

Hi @lemelman - When your existing access ends, you will retain the same account information but you will have Basic AccessFusion for personal use, offers additional capabilities. Let us know if you have additional questions.

Thanks for the reassurance Andrew. I've managed to save all the the F3Ds to my hard drive, just in case. I'll know on Friday.
