Is there a way to make a new title block the default? What am I missing?

Hi Greg,

If you have a custom or inserted (from DWG) title block, the best way to make it the default is to save it as your drawing template.  You can either create a new template (from the File menu) or if you have a drawing set up the way you like you can use Save As and choose drawing template (.f2t) as the file type.  Then when you create a new drawing, specify that template in the Create Drawing dialog instead of the default "From Scratch."  Let me know if this does (or doesn't) work for you.

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I definitely think this would be a good future improvement but you guys just rolled out with this update. Thankfully most of my parts are being CNC machined by me. But for some that exceeds our machine, drawings are still a nuisance to the workflow haha.

OK. So I made a new template. It took a while. Now "Save As" is not available. Frustration has yet another new definition.

Hi Andy,

Did you create your template using "New Drawing Template" from the File menu?  If that's the case (and you've never saved it before), you just need to Save. A new template from scratch already knows it's a template.

The Save As recommendation is if you already have a drawing (f2d) set up the way you want it and you want to save as a template (f2t).

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thank you for clarifying. I did save it thinking it was going to be a
regular part file but it did come up as an option when I started a new
dreading from a part. What a relief.
