HI,
I am trying to make a simple Thermal Stress simulation for a Assembly shown below in Fusion 360.
For the Top Block (in Molybdenum), the Force Load is 500kN downward and the thermal load is 700C. Frictionless Constrained on 2 surface
The middle part has a curve contact surface which matches the groove curvature on both the Top and Bottom part. It is made in Avesta253. Frictionless Constrained on 2 surface
For the bottom part in Copper, Frictionless Constrained on 3 surface
Top and the middle part material is set to be temperature dependent. I also did a simple stress analysis without thermal load and the result looks promising (as shown on bottom left).
My questions are the following:
1. Why whenever I set the part material to be temperature depoendent, in the result view, the safety factor of the part is always red and not showing the real safety factor?
2. II understand that the themal expansion will cause the middle part contact surface slide a bit on the top part contact surface. Should I define the contact as Sliding or speperation ? any more specific suggestion on how to define the contact is welcome
BR,
Keith
