Howdy folks,

As the title suggests, is there anyway to create a custom fastener?

I have submitted a request to have Spax screws (https://www.spaxpacific.com/screwfinder) added but that could take quite some time to add (if at all) to the library.

I've attempted to recreate a Spax screw based on the parameters etc that are in the 'built in' fastener library but they don't seem to show up when placed in the Fasteners/screws/custom folder which is making me think this is not possible (yet?).

Am i correct in this assumption? if not, could someone point me in the direction of a tutorial or guide to create them myself.

Cheers in advance,

Matt

Hi Matt,

thank you for your feedback. For now, we aren't supporting customisation / adding new content.

We are collecting all requests for new Content and we will do our best to update Fasteners Library with most commonly requested Fasteners.

Best regards

 Roman

I really hope you revisit this decision.  As someone who heavily uses the McMaster-Carr catalog as my source of fasteners in designs, it took me literally 30 seconds to run into the problem of not being able to find something (that I'm currently using) in the catalog.  The advantage of this feature isn't just having a catalog, but also treating fasteners differently from other components and majorly reducing the tedium of the process of inserting them.

If we're limited to only the fasteners you chose to put in the stock catalog, I'm sorry but it can quickly make the feature totally useless if we want to accurately represent our assemblies and keep everything organized.
