Hi,

I have seen that this has been an area of some discussion previously. I am broadly very happy with the texture mapping but there are a few areas that I get stumped on.

Problem: I want to be able to emulate a sheet of birch ply that has a textured surface treatment. If I use the Planar option from one side axis then I get the following:

See how the top face texture is scraped across the model causing black streaks, and it also stretches the birch layers down the right hand edge...

If I use a Box option instead I get this:

(Which so nearly works!)

Here you see that it work for all the faces but the chamfer round a radius. I have tried to change the angles of projection in all three axes to no avail...

Is there any way of solving this?

I have not tried this and done;t know if this works, so the this with a grain of salt.

The default is to apply appearances to bodies/components. But you can slo change that to apply textures to faces only.

So apply the plywood texture to the entire object in flat projection and then subsequently apply the special texture to the face only maybe using a different mapping.
