I set up a simple beam model,fixed at one end with a force at the other end.

I can set everything up ok - but cannot create a mesh.

In your SIM setup, under the Solve drop down menu select 'Pre Check' and see if it finds any issues with your setup.

You can also tell from the 'Solve' button. if the traffic light is red there are still undefined conditions, Pre Check will be able to point you in the right direction.

Light is green and precheck confirms that everything is set up ok.

What is the error you see when you try to run Solve?

Hello,

I would like to help you with your problem and little bit more explain how Simulation works.

Pre-Check command controls Simulation conditions but doesn’t control if Mesh is created or valid. If all conditions are specified then you can see that Pre-Check is Successful ( semaphore light = green) in other case it informs you what is missing.

Simulation conditions are:

  • boundary conditions (Loads, constraints, contacts)
  • Material specification

Mesh is possible to generate in two ways:

  1. We have a command in Toolbar – Generate Mesh
  2. You can also run Solve command which check if a Mesh already exist and if not then generate it

I would like to ask you if you could share/send us your model where you could not generate mesh. It will help us identify the problem.

Thank you a lot

Regards

Pavel

I'm seeing the same issue, I think.

I've had a go with a model that I made (a plate with fingers of different lengths that should vibrate), and didn't get anything. Then I tried the brake-disk tutorial. That also doesn't produce anything. There doesn't appear to be a mesh, and the results don't show anything (there are no sliders to change ranges like the documentation suggests).

To set this up, I loaded the tutorial, set a Fixed structural constraint in 3 axes on the face of the centre bore and then clicked solve. All other parameters are set to the defaults.

Also, if I click to create the mesh manually, I get a progess window flash up for a tiny amount of time but no mesh appears.

Hello,

Thank you for this additional information.

I would to ask you if you could send me a report-log  from Simulation Solve Details dialog – see an attached image how to get the report.

Done.
I reinstalled Fusion, and still get the same result. I've tried again to run the modal frequencies tutorial again, and whilst it says that it's all worked there's no mesh visible. When I toggle mesh visibility, I get a dialog saying "The mesh has not been computed yet. Would you like to compute the mesh now".
f I click yes, there's no change, and the dialog will appear again the next time I toggle mesh visibility.

I have the same problem, no matter which CAD model I use.

My System:
Windows 8.1 German
Lenovo x230 Tablet with i5-3320M

Until now I tried the compatibility mode from Windows and a reinstall.

Following some back and forth with the guys at Autodesk (thanks, I appreciate it), I discovered what looked like a zombie installation in the folder C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\

There were three folders in there: One containing a few files, one containing FusionLauncher.exe and one containing the full Fusion360 install. To fix the issue, we deleted the zombie folder, and then copied the files tbb*.dll to the feacs\ subfolder in the Fusion360 installation directory.

Do you also see something like that?

Your zombie folder is my Fusion360 installation folder.

You talked about the FusionLauncher in the zombie folder. This launcher is linked with the Fusion360 shortcut on my desktop which is created automatically during the setup.

Here you can see the FusionLauncher.exe.ini

[Launcher]

stream = production

auid = AutodeskInc.Fusion360

cmd = C:\Users\Robert\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\47982f0424d12e24e06d9052d8b578f503263543\Fusion360.exe

global = False

So I think removing the folder is a bad idea.

In the production folder I have 4 folders. 2 with a “API” folder, the FusionLauncher and the installation folder.

Hello,

please do not remove this folder - Launcher is important - it runs Fusion 360 ( it is valid for Windows only). Each production release (update) has own ID and we use this ID for folder name where Fusion is installed.  Sometimes can happened that older version of Fusion is not removed completely during Live Update, but it should not have any effect for the last version . In FusionLauncher.exe.ini is specified which folder is active and all others are old, but be careful if you want to remove anything from ..\WebDeploy\ location.

I think that you misunderstood what I wrote, or I wasn't clear enough. I'm not suggesting that one removes the folder with the fusionLauncher.

I found that there was a folder containing a couple of empty folders that looked like scraps of an older install. Simultaneously (following some communications with Pavel and his colleagues by email), we'd determined that this same folder was where Fusion was expecting to see a bunch more stuff. Separate to this, there was the installation folder with all the libraries and stuff that Fusion needs to run. I found that by deleting the folder containing the scraps (NOT the one containing the launcher, and NOT the one containing Fusion's various libraries), and by also copying the tbb*.dll libraries into the sub-folder as described above, I was able to make simulation work.

Great, now it works.

My Way:

For being sure all old stuff is removed I deinstalled Fusion and removed all other stuff sounds like Fusion or Autodesk manually.
Then I Installed Fusion again.
After that I searched for tbb*.dll files in Fusion install folder and copied them in the feacs folder.

Thank you very much for your support.
