T-Spline Error

I get an error when trying to convert a thickened form into a solid body. It's my second time trying to model anything using t-splines, the first time I was trying to model a spiral vase and I scrapped it due to the same error. I was following this toturial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4a9YCrnypNA

I've searched the forums and the the internet but there was no help from any toturials or posts that I was able to find.

What's the workflow to solve this type of errors with circularly symmetrical geometry like this without drastically changing the geometry and how do I avoid these errors in the future?

The error:
Error: Conversion error for: Body2
Edges or faces may be crossing. Review in box mode.

On the top and bottom avoid triangles. When using the fill hole/collapse option, delete every second edge so you end up with quad faces.

Only when it converts without problems would I thicken it. I personally prefer thickening it in the solid workspace as  that thikness is parametric.
