Sweep intersects itself

My vision: 3D printed guide track for LED strip neon light for my home.

I've created a .svg file of the shape, and want to make the track.   I used the sweep function to create a track I know will take the Flexi LED strip.  The image has relatively sharp corners, and as such when I printed a section, the LED strip had trouble making those bends.

I rounded the corners using Inkscape (path effects > fillet/chamfer) and now Fusion is saying it cannot complete the operation because the sweep intersects itself.

Any ideas how to get around this?  I have tried softer curves, but it doesn't seem anything I do makes it work.

unfortunately, this is just a limitation of Sweep - the resulting body cannot intersect itself.  You have a large profile for the angles of your path - short of some really aggressive filleting, or scaling down the profile significantly, sweep is going to fail.  As an example, this level of filleting (10mm) on the first 3 lines will succeed:

but, this (5mm) will fail:

Thanks @jeff_strater  for such a thorough reply.  I don’t suppose there are other ideas you could suggest to achieve a similar outcome?
