Sweep Command is changing geometry - why?

Hi Everyone,

the problem I am facing is such as the Sweep Command is twisting the geometry of the resulting body once executed. This happens when using "Path+Guide Rail". The "path" is centered on the sketch and the "guide rail" starts on a corner of the sketch. I have no idea why it does that. Any hints how to avoid this twisting?

Here is the pic (top & front):

The other problem I am facing is, when I am only using "path" to sweep, the curve of the path is not followed exactly but at least there is no twisting of the body. However, this is not what I want as it "over bends" (if that is an expression in English). Does anybody know why this keeps happening?

Any suggestions help as this is very frustrating by now and starts to affect my wellbeing 😉

Best,

Flo

Are the guide rails equal distance from the center line on both ends? That will cause what your seeing. The center line needs to be just that..a line through the center of your shape for the sweep. If at any point along the sweep it leaves the center you will get twist. If a taper is what you want along the path that's fine but the end points of the center line still need to be at the center of the sweep shape. At least this has been my experience with the tool. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks Phil, for your reply. The lines were indeed a little off.

Any hints on the second part of the problem (when not using a guide rail)?
