SVG Importing with broken connections and lines.

I've got a shape that's down to one layer in Illustrator, and I've exported it in DXP & SVG using multiple export option, and I get the same broken shapes during import. Any suggestions or help? I've simplified the points in illustrator, but still no luck. I attached the illustrator file and image from illustrator. The black I'd like to extrude out of a flat surface. But when bringing it into Fusion, it all get's merged into one big shape. If your able to figure this out, I'd love to know how you did it! Thanks. I attached the two images to show you guys/gals, and the SVG I'm using. Thanks in advance!!

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 community! Smiley Happy

Unfortunately, I've reported this issue(FUS-27614) to development team three times. they are investigating it and I think it will be fixed soon.

If I receive any response, I'm going to get back to you.

And as a workaround, I would like to suggest you to use this way.
1. Open the dxf file in AutoCAD.
2. Explode "the shapes" (command "x")
3. Save as DXF file.
4. insert dxf file to Fusion 360.
5. create a new sketch and use "project" command

Sorry for the inconvenience caused  and if you need more help, please let me know.

Many thanks!

Thanks for the help! I'll try to do what you suggested—however I've never used any of the software we're talking about here. I'm a designer working on a 3D mold for a chocolate bar, and trying to create the 3D mold for print. I'm sort of out of my league here, but appreciate the help non-the-less! Thanks!

Here is the easiest way I know of to solve your problem.

Open your svg in Inkscape (free) and follow the steps in this video.

If you do the conversion yourself and run into any problems feel free to ask and I will help any way I can.

Ultimately I want you to know how to fix these problems yourself, but I am glad I was able to help you out.

Cheers

Yeah absolutely. I'm installing Inkscape now. I noticed a missing pieces within the "A" so I'm trying to recreate using the video you provided. I'm the sort of person who want's to know how it's done, so I'm starting from scratch. I am having problems running Inkscape—I guess I should have installed XQuartz first. Now Inkscape just opens and closes without any notice. Working my way through that at the moment. But I can't thank you enough for the info, I know I'm on the right track with this.

You bet I will be. Once this is shipped off to be printed, I'll get a 3D mold back, which I'll be making a food grade mold out of. Once I have that, I'll pour in chocolate and make holiday chocolate bars which doubles as a Labyrinth game by use of small hard round candy! A holiday greeting if you will. Thanks again for all the help, you guys are top grade gentleman.

Hi, I have the same problem. But Inkscape on Mac  is asking to install other platform. So I create a blank doc in Illustrator, pasted the line work I needed (no fill) and exported to svg. Worked. Previously I was using the Asset export palette and it came all broken up. Hopefully will work for all the other elements
