I was working on a design inside a students account closed the file, asked him if it streamed down to his side, all worked.

Today he called me telling me that he today got an upload message and then everything we worked on yesterday was lost.

any idea see take a look into his account and see what file was worked on and can those be restored?

Hello,

I would like to sort the information you provided and try to give solutions.

1. You and your student worked on different machines with the same account.

2. You did some modification and save/close the file.

3. Your student synced the changed you made. He saw all your changes in his machine.

4. Your student did more modification based on the latest revision in his machine.

5. Today he told all works were lost and saw a upload message in his machine. My question is what were lost? The changes you made or he made? Or both of you?

If he just lost the changes made by himself, a potential reason may be that the local changes in his machine didn't get synced to cloud. He could wait upload task gets done and give a check again?

If he lost the changes you made, please go to your hub(http://myhub.autodesk360.com) and check vesions of the design. Did he override your changes by accident? If so, you could promote the old version.

Thanks,

Marshal

Every step is right

what seems to be the case is that all design changes are gone
and I saw in his account on my side and through skype the sync on his side
he continued working on it and then yesterday told me that everything was lost

Thank you for the clarification.

Did you log into his hub and check the versions? I would know if it is possible to find those changes in older version? If not, we may have to check if we can find local copy with those changes in his machine? In that case, I would ask you send me the folder "PLM360Cache". It would alse be great if you can provide those log files for analysis.

My email is marshal.tu@autodesk.com

Thanks,

Marshal

Hello,

Please launch Fusion 360 and invoke the command "Diagnostic Log Files". The cache files should be collected in zip file. Then please send me the zip file.

Thanks,

Marshal

Hello,

Thank you for quick response. I deduced a couple of local files were under your local cache folder (C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\9SVJMGU6MEBH\PLM360Cache\a360proue29e5373.autodeskplm360.net/1/)

(User = eugene)

dfssfsd.f3d
Eugene Knife Repaired v24.f3d

Eugene Knife Repaired.f3d

portable table and seat.f3d

(User = cekuhnen)

bad portable table.f3d

bad portable table-V8.f3d

Eugene Knife Repaired Claas FIX.f3d

Untitled.f3d

work pull.f3d

Unfortunately the log files you run into issues didn't get included in zip files. I cannot know which file was problematic?

Please go to your PLM360Cache folder (C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\9SVJMGU6MEBH\PLM360Cache\a360proue29e5373.autodeskplm360.net/1/). You would see some files which extension are .f3d. Here are all local cache in your machine. Please copy that one what you want and rename it and upload to your project. Please open it in Fusion and see if all changes you did were restored?

An example of cache file: "Eugene Knife Repaired Claas FIX.6195f662-7f5f-47b1-ae4a-41b9ace3c474.f3d" -> rename as "Eugene Knife Repaired Claas FIX.f3d" -> upload to your project -> open in Fusion 360.

Also, please go to the folder(C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\9SVJMGU6MEBH\) and find all log files like "AppLogFilexxxxxxxxxxxxxx.log" and send them to me for analysis. I would like to find out root cause why your changes were lost.

Thanks,

Marshal

Hello,

Unfortunately the command "Diagnostic Log Files" didn't help collect to design files, but meta files for design. So please go to "C:\Users\eugene\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\9SVJMGU6MEBH\PLM360Cache\a360proue29e5373.autodeskplm360.net/1/" in your first machine and find "portable table and seat.b4098c91-9e42-47d1-bf4f-e5a14518dd8e.f3d", go to "C:\Users\cekuhnen\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\9SVJMGU6MEBH\PLM360Cache\a360proue29e5373.autodeskplm360.net/1/" in your second machine and find "Untitled.eaef7ba1-c20a-4c65-bfbe-7f1b42186e74.f3d". The two files were what you wanted.

If you send me all files under "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\9SVJMGU6MEBH\PLM360Cache" in your both two machine, I could help find them out and send them to you.

Thanks,

Marshal
