.STP Unable to Split Body or Push Pull

I am unable to split the body of a .stp scan file of a organic from, I could perform this operation in the past.  I can split it on the on the y axis but not on the X.

error message - No intersection between targets and split tool.  I am sure this is not the case.

If I go to the original .stp file I can perform the split body operation but then I am unable to extrude.  I have tired these operations on both my PC (window 7) & my Mac (El Cap), no luck.  When I try to extrude it just locks up and I need to shut the program down.  I did a fresh reinstall on the PC and updated the graphics drivers.  Everything was working earlier this week.

Can not give you a error message for the second issue because Fusion 360 locks up.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

Sorry that this is causing such a head ache! Fear not, though! I'm here to help!

Could you share the design that is causing problems so that I may investigate the issue on my machine to see if the issue is machine specific? We have created a great article, linked here, that describes the many ways you can share a design! Could you also record an Autodesk Screencast to show your clicks and picks so I can make sure Autodesk Screencastthat I am following the same procedure that you are?

Thanks in advance for the information!

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce this on my machine, which leads me to believe that the issue might be design specific. Could you share the design with me so that I may investigate further?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Mike Tessier
