Stl To Mesh Solid Body Error

gravity knife error brep.pnghello! i cant seem to convert without error in my conversion it has deformed and lost surfaces.. how can i go about this ? to convert it to step file

The resulting bodies reflect the condition of the STL but here is the conversion.

For a prismatic conversion I would first delete the duplicate in Meshmixer. Then I would also separate shells in Meshmixer to have individual objects that would then be converted individually.

 

Then the conversion still might not work, because for the level of geometric detail the mesh resolution is a bit low.

Prismatic conversion requires to create face groups first. Some of the face groups might need to be combined, others will likely require editing so individual triangles can  be assigned to the correct face group.

Yep, the mesh sucks. Garbage in garbage out. Need to clean it up first:

Oh also, MM was not able to reasonable repair this, but Windows 3D Builder was. See attached for the fixed .stl

thank you for the great pointers solution.. i didnt assume it would be easy thats why i asked, great input i will use this in the future with other 3d downloaded stl files, actually its a converted glb to stl.. maybe it lost something in the conversion...
