Step export problem

Hi everyone!

I'm struggling with a huge problem. If I want to open any .step or .stp in Creo Parametric 2, what has circular chamfers in it and was exported with Fusion 360 it simply falls apart. I've made an examle project to demonstrate what actually happens:

This is the design in Fusion 360:

If I export this in .step or .stp and open it in Creo parametric:

You can see that the circular chamfers failed to generate, unfortunately it happens every time, I export in step format.

We tried to "trick it"  with edge fillets (it didn't work):

If I export the same design in IGES format it works perfectly. The only problem is, that IGEs files are bigger than step files, I rather use step instead of iges.

Please help me solve this issue!

Best regards,

Just tested exporting to Rhino and ZW3d, both opened stp file without a problem so perhaps you need to report the problem to Creo.

Here's an export from Rhino to test, does that import any better?

Should look like this.

Hi!

I've tested the Rhino file you've sent, and it works fine. It seems only the Fusion generated step files are falling apart. The guy who uses Creo told me he can check the step file contents inside Creo, and even the step encryption(?) itself falls apart, so it can't determine the components and parts in the file. I'll try to test it in solidworks with one of my friends.

Thanks!

Hi!

We have tested the Fusion export in Solidworks, and it works fine! It really seems that Creo has something to do with this problem, we will continue with reporting this to PTC.

Thanks for your help!

Hello!

Creo 3.0 user here!

Looks like the problem is on Creo. It's funny how they show-off their "Unite Technology"; which can open almost any kind of CAD file, but have trouble opening STEPs.

Looks like .iges are the best option for now.
