Split Face Selection Anomaly

I ran into an issue selecting split faces related to this thread.

I had to toggle chain select on/off to get individual faces.

Here is the file.

The behavior on first selection is as expected, must turn off Chain Selection, that makes logical sense - but every selection after that must toggle Chain Selection on/off to get expected behavior (you might add a few more split faces to the example before trying).

I have reproduced what you have shown in your screencast and logged this issue with the development team.

With the development team taking over from here they will dig deeper to find the root cause of the "chain selection" 

actiavation.
