Smoothing Spline and Arc Nodes in Sketch

Hello I recently just machined a sign for a customer.  I imported the DXF into Fusion and extruded and machined the logo. When I import the DXF of the letters into Fusion you can see the arcs and lines of the letters have a million 'Nodes' and are broken up into a million segments.  Then when you go to machine it, it is not a smooth line for the machine to follow and instead makes the machine kind of cut and stop and feedrates adjust a million times when machining.

When I import the same sketch to ArtCAM there is a setting 'Maintain Smooth Curves' in the node editor to adjust these lines into 1 or 2 smooth full lines without the broken line segments and nodes.  Is there a way of doing this in Fusion 360? Thanks

I'd like to also note, that after adjusting the lines in ArtCAM and I re-toolpathed and machined the parts it cut the machining time down to a 1/3 of what it was in Fusion 360, because it wasn't slowing down around every arc like it was previously. So this is also a machining question as well

Try the Smoothing option in the toolpath.

p.s. The short line segments most likely exist in the dxf. I don't think Fusion 360 is converting arcs to short line segments.

How the way to smooth those nodes while in the sketch.  That is what I am searching now... smoothing a million nodes into a single spline...

1. Create your own new thread

2. Provide a .f3d file that includes the sketch.

3. Be more verbose in problem description 😉
